Police Intervention in Warsaw: Two Men Targeted Drivers and Officers

Investigation into the incident on Saturday at Sosnkowskiego Street in Warsaw’s Ursus district is underway. Two men allegedly aimed firearms at passing drivers and police officers, prompting a swift response from the uniformed services.

Police Intervention in Ursus

A patrol from the Warsaw III Police District Command was dispatched immediately to the scene on Sosnkowskiego Street in Ursus. Upon arrival, the situation escalated as the men also directed their weapons at police officers. The uniformed officers responded swiftly: one of the aggressors was neutralised on site, while the other attempted to flee but was apprehended after a brief foot chase. Both arrested individuals are aged 41 and approximately 20 years.

Information on the Arrested Individuals

It was discovered that the men were carrying CO2 airsoft guns, not real firearms. During the intervention, they emitted a noticeable odor of alcohol, suggesting they were intoxicated. One of the detained men was examined by the Medical Rescue Team.

Officer Hits Fence

The incident involving a police vehicle added further unrest. The officer driving the vehicle struck a private property fence. He was informed on scene. Additionally, Deputy Regional Commander Paweł Glinka, a junior inspector, arrived to supervise the actions.

Road Closure and Traffic Impact

During the intervention, Sosnkowskiego Street was closed, causing temporary traffic disruptions.
