Polish Foreign Ministry says all Polish nationals detained by Israel will be moved to Israel for deportation to Europe.
Foreign Ministry Statement
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it is monitoring the situation regarding the seizure of Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) vessels. Among those seized were Polish citizens, and according to the ministry, they are safe and no one has been harmed. The consul is already in Ashdod, where the detainees are being transported. “No Polish citizen will be left without care,” the ministry added.
Polish Participants Among Seized Vessels
Reports from Polish members of the Global Sumud Flotilla indicate that Israeli forces seized additional humanitarian boats at night, including vessels with Polish citizens. Ewa Jasiewicz posted a night‑time update on X that her boat had escaped seizure and was en route to Gaza. However, a previously recorded message surfaced before 7 p.m., showing Israeli forces ultimately taking her unit. She stated that her arrest occurred during a legal, humanitarian, peaceful mission aimed at delivering aid and breaking the criminal blockade of Gaza.
Detention of Polish Delegation
Polish delegate Franciszek Sterczewski, activist Nina Ptak, journalist Ewa Jasiewicz, and activist Omar Faris were all reported captured by Israeli forces. Fraczewski posted a video on social media confirming his detention, while Krawczyk, spokesperson for Global Movement to Gaza Poland, confirmed the four were taken by armed Israeli forces, calling it a blatant violation of international law.
Deportation Procedure
The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated that the detained participants of the flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip will be transported to Israel, where they will begin the procedure for deportation to Europe. Israel reportedly held 21 vessels from the flotilla, with no contact with the remaining 14 boats.
