Starting tomorrow, Warsaw welcomes Żerański Park, the city’s first park with direct beach access, offering bridges, bike paths, and a rope‑course for all ages.
Opening and Access
The park opens tomorrow for visitors. It is Warsaw’s first park with direct access to the shore of the Żerański Canal, located on the west bank from Modlińska to Płochocińska. It covers 13 hectares.
Ecological and Landscape Development
Around 500 native trees and over 36,000 perennials were planted. More than 44,000 m² contain meadows and 7,000 m² are lawns. Several historic pontoons and cranes remain, repurposed for recreation.
Recreational Facilities
Visitors can stroll along tree‑lined paths, walk the canal promenade, use wooden gangways, a playground, and a rope‑course. Over 100 benches, covered shelters, and 29 trash cans provide comfort.
Water‑Sport and Community Impact
The revitalised canal encourages year‑round water sports. Local clubs train athletes for national and international competitions, while ordinary users find a safe, comfortable setting for beginners.
Future Plans and Safety
A wooden pavilion with a food service and public toilets will be built next year. A water playground for children is also planned under the municipal budget. Dog owners are asked to keep pets leashed, as wildlife such as boars visit the park.
