Deadly Shooting in El Ejido: Two Dead, Four Injured

A shooting incident in El Ejido, Almeria, late Monday night left two people dead and four injured, including children, prompting a massive police response and a subsequent surrender by the perpetrator.

Violence in Almeria

The act of violence occurred on Monday, May 18, in the town of El Ejido, Almeria province. Around 11:00 PM, multiple emergency calls were placed reporting gunfire in the area.

Authorities, including local police, national police, the Civil Guard’s rapid response teams, and various medical units, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Victims and Perpetrator

Sources from the Civil Guard told the newspaper El Pais that the shooter’s parents were killed in the attack. His seven-month-old son was wounded and remains in critical condition.

The other victims include a two-year-old child, a woman in serious condition, and a man. Following the incident, the perpetrator fled the scene, but surrendered to the police on Tuesday morning, May 19.
