A call to Warsaw residents on Krakowskie Przedmieście urges them to raise blinds and switch off televisions as a major film production of ‘The Doll’ shoots in the city until October 22.
Warsaw Serves as Shoot Location for Adaptation of “The Doll”
Filming of the new Polish adaptation of “The Doll” will take place in Warsaw until 22 October. The production will feature actors such as Maja Komorowska, Krystyna Janda, Andrzej Seweryn, Marcin Dorociński, Marek Kondrat, Agata Kulesza and Mateusz Damięcki. A set recreating Stanisław Wokulski’s shop has been built from scratch in the historically significant Krakowskie Przedmieście area, and it sits on the site of a former tenement house that existed during Bolesław Prus’s time.
Appeal to Warsaw Residents
Posters have been placed near the main gate of the Warsaw University at the corner of Krakowskie Przedmieście, requesting that residents raise their curtains or blinds during the shoot. The appeal also asks that modern window decorations, including television screens and powerful LED lights, be turned off to avoid lighting disruptions on set.
Traffic Disruptions in Warsaw
During production, a section of Trakt Królewski from Królewska to Świętokrzyska Street will be closed, and parking will be prohibited on Obózowa and Kopernika Streets near the Nicolaus Copernicus statue. City buses have been rerouted onto detour roads, as announced by mayor Rafał Trzaskowski.
