Unusual Incident in Warsaw Metro Leaves Six Stations Out of Service

A dog darted into an underground tunnel, forcing the Warsaw Metro to suspend service at six stations, including Słodowiec, on a Tuesday evening.

Municipal Transport Board announced that due to an incident at Słodowiec station, trains on the M1 line were running a loop between DW. GAŃSKI and KABATY. Stations pl. Wilsona; Marymont; Słodowiec; Stare Bielany; Wawrzyszew; Młociny were shut down after 19:00.

Operations were restored at all stations after 20:00, allowing normal service to resume.

Dog intruder in metro tunnel

Portal Onet.pl reported that a Yorkie entered the metro tunnel. The dog was dubbed a “traveling dog” because it moved between stations.

Metro spokeswoman Anna Bartoń explained that power was cut to the tunnel, and the animal was soon captured by municipal guard officers and other services.

Authorities respond

Municipal Guard personnel and other authorities were involved in the capture and handling of the dog.
