The District Prosecutor’s Office in Przasnysz filed an indictment on October 23, 2025, against Zbigniew G., charging him with homicide under Article 148 § 1 of the Polish Penal Code. The indictment cites the use of a dangerous tool in the killing.

The incident occurred on May 10, 2025, in the village of Ostrowe Stańczyki, Krzynowłoga Mała commune, Masovian Voivodeship.
Murder Method and Immediate Aftermath
Zbigniew G. visited victim Marian D. the day before and, after drinking alcohol, the two men stayed in the victim’s home. At about 1:00 a.m., the victim’s son heard screams, found the victim face‑down and Zbigniew seated on the bed. The victim’s son immediately called the police.
Forensic Findings
At the scene, investigators found the body, a screwdriver used to deliver blows, and 14 wounds of varying depth on the face and neck. The forensic pathologist identified a massive external hemorrhage from ruptured vertebral vessels as the direct cause of death.
Defendant’s Statements
Zbigniew G. denied the charges, claiming he acted in self‑defence. His statements were verified against the evidence and expert opinions, with no admission of guilt.
Psychiatric Evaluation
During the proceedings, a court‑psychiatric assessment found no mental illness or intellectual impairment, stating that at the time of the act, the defendant retained the capacity to recognise the nature of his conduct and control his actions.
