A fatal crash on Alei Obrońców Warszawy on Sunday night into Monday, at 3:16 a.m., caused a car to smash into barriers and overturn, killing a 41‑year‑old woman after resuscitation attempts.
Crash details and timing
At 3:16 a.m. the night of Sunday to Monday, a car traveling on Alei Obrońców Warszawy (Salomea-Wolice route) hit the barriers at the Salomea junction and overturned.
Four squads of the State Fire Service responded, lifting the vehicle and restoring traffic, but the crossing was temporarily impassable.
Fire brigade rescues and rescue work
Four firefighters arrived at the scene, where they found all four occupants outside the vehicle.
Three were conscious and uninjured; the fourth, a woman, was unconscious. A witness performed CPR before the firefighters and medical team took over.
Victim’s condition and death
Despite several minutes of resuscitation efforts, the on‑scene doctor pronounced the woman dead.
Police investigation and driver profile
The police determined that a 20‑year‑old male driver, heading toward the city centre at Opacz junction, lost control of his vehicle.
He was sober, held a valid licence, and the scene was monitored by a prosecutor.
