Four men aged 28 to 36 were arrested last week in Warsaw and surrounding towns, charged with transporting substantial amounts of drugs under Poland’s Anti‑Drug Abuse Law.
Arrests Across Warsaw and Surrounding Towns
The Capital’s Department for Crime and Murder carried out the arrests in Warsaw, Ząbek, Pruszków and Osowiec. These operations were part of last week’s intensified campaign against drug trafficking.
Charges Under the Anti‑Drug Abuse Law
The men were formally accused of possession and distribution of significant quantities of narcotics, in line with the provisions of the national anti‑drug legislation.
Temporary Detention of the 31‑Year‑Old
Following the prosecutor’s request, a 31‑year‑old suspect was detained by court order for three months while the investigation proceeds.
Police Supervision and Travel Restrictions
The remaining suspects, aged 28, 30 and 36, were placed under police monitoring and prohibited from leaving the country after their indictment.
Potential Sentence for Large‑Scale Distribution
By law, trafficking large amounts of drugs carries a maximum prison term of twelve years.
