A high‑speed BMW pursued by Warsaw police collided with several vehicles and finally crashed into a traffic‑light pole at the Stawki–Okopowa intersection on November 6.
Police chase across city streets
After a violation at the 40‑year‑old roundabout, the driver fled, and police chased him along Śródmieście and Wola streets, deploying additional radio vehicles.
Multiple collisions before the final wreck
During the pursuit, the BMW struck at least five other vehicles, including a Toyota Prius, though the full tally of damaged cars is still being verified.
Crash at Stawki and Okopowa
Police blocked traffic at the Stawki‑Okopowa junction, but the driver swerved into the Skoda radio vehicle, lost control, hit a pedestrian signal, drove into the oncoming lane, and ultimately slammed into a street‑light pole.
Victims and ongoing investigation
The BMW carried the driver and a passenger; the woman is under medical care while the man has been arrested. Fire crews, an operational city group, medical teams, and about ten police units responded.
Authorities conducted sobriety tests and vehicle searches, finding the driver has two active driving bans.
