Man Lays on Railway Tracks; Train Stops at the Last Moment as Investigation Continues

At around 11:20 a.m. on the platforms of PKP Warszawa Włochy station, a roughly 50‑year‑old man fell onto the tracks, but a passing train stopped just in time, sparing him.

Incident at PKP Warszawa Włochy

At 11:20 a.m. on one platform of the PKP Warszawa Włochy station, a man around 50 years old fell from the platform edge onto the railway tracks.

Train Saves Man

A Zgorzelec–Warsaw Eastbound service was approaching when it braked suddenly, stopping just before the fallen man, thanks to the driver’s quick reaction.

Witnesses reported that the train began honking loudly and then ran to a stop.

Medical Response

The man was conscious and was rendered at a medical rescue team. He was later taken to a hospital for further examination.

Investigation and Service Disruptions

Railway Protection Service, police, and a PKP Polish Lines board have secured the site and are investigating the exact causes and how the man ended up on the tracks.

Because of these actions, train services on the Warsaw Włochy–Warsaw Gołąbki line are disrupted; schedules may be delayed, cancelled, or shortened.

Passengers are urged to follow operator announcements and the information boards at the station.

Travelers Advisory

From 12:40, fare men‑toward‑KM/ZTM mutual honouring was introduced on KM and SKM line S1 between Pruszków and Warsaw Eastward. For current delays and disruptions, consult the PKP PLK S.A. passenger portal.
