Polish public broadcaster TVP was again denied entrance to a V4 summit in Hungary on 2 December. The station was forced to broadcast live from the parking lot.
TVP reporters explained that Hungarian organisers had permitted only five representatives from Polish media – Polsat, Kanał Zero, TV Republika, wPolsce24 and PAP – to attend. The president’s office was not on the allowed list, according to TVP journalist Klaudia Aramowicz.
Another Incident
Just weeks earlier, TVP 3 Lublin, Radio Lublin and PAP were refused entry to the ECR Youth Congress in Lublin that hosted President Karol Nawrocki.
President Nawrocki denounced public media as spreading misinformation, claiming that they portrayed him as a pro‑EU exitist in a fabricated narrative. TVP 3 Lublin said the announcement of his appearance had been made only an hour before the event, prompting the late accreditation request and subsequent denial.
Escalating Tensions
The presidential office has not yet commented on the accreditation criteria for the V4 summit. TVP intends to seek explanations from the office.
