President Defends Veto on Crypto Law

On Monday, December 1, President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a bill concerning crypto‑assets, arguing the regulations endanger Polish citizens’ freedoms, property, and state stability. He emphasized during his campaign that he would not allow laws that restrict freedom to invest in modern assets.

Prime Minister Criticizes Veto

Prime Minister Donald Tusk called Nawrocki’s veto “ambiguous,” noting the backdrop of large sums, scandals, investigations, and the mysterious disappearance of the “king of crypto.” He warned that the move looks “bad” amid radical right campaigns involving Presidents Duda and Nawrocki.
