Car Collides with Train in Greater Poland; Four People Dead

In the Greater Poland Voivodeship, a passenger car collided with a train. Authorities report that four people died.

Tragic Accident in Greater Poland Voivodeship

We received information about a collision between a car and a train. Four people traveling in the vehicle are dead. Eight fire-fighting units were working on the scene—Junior Lieutenant Marcin Tecław from the Poznań City Fire Brigade Command reported, quoted by tvn24.pl.

Four People Dead

The train passengers were unharmed. ‘Głos Wielkopolski’ reports that the tragedy occurred at 13:55 at an unguarded crossing in the forest. The POLREGIO train from Łódź Kaliska to Poznań struck the car. The vehicle carried four people (two men and two women). All died. About 180 passengers were on the train. No one was injured. Roadworks have already been set up—Police spokesperson Andrzej Borowiak informed.

Train Services Suspended

Train traffic in the area has been suspended until further notice. The police, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are investigating the causes of the tragic accident.
