Polish police seized spy equipment in a car near Senator Street in Warsaw, detaining three Ukrainian men on suspicion of espionage.
Police Find Spy Devices
While stopping a car owned by three Ukrainians on Senatorska Street, officers uncovered equipment that could be used to breach Poland’s strategic IT systems, including a detector, hacking gear, a FLIPPER device, antennas, laptops, SIM cards, routers, portable hard drives, and cameras, according to Sergeant Kacper Wojteczko.
Possible Scenarios
The case is being investigated by the Central Crime Fighting Department. Investigators say the Ukrainians could not explain why they had the seized items; they claimed to be IT specialists but, when asked more detailed questions, faltered in English and denied understanding the questions.
Detained Men Face Charges
All three men have been charged with fraud, acquisition of computer devices for crimes, and attempts to damage information data of national defense significance. They are under preventive detention for three months as the case is overseen by the Warsaw Central District Prosecutor’s Office.
