A 51‑year‑old Warsaw resident was apprehended in Czosnów after a high‑speed escape in an Audi, carrying six court bans, a life‑sentence in hand, and mefedron.
High‑Speed Pursuit on DK7
On Wednesday around 10 a.m., the district police traffic department in Nowy Dwor noticed an Audi speeding 115 km/h on DK7 in Czosnów, well above the 70 km/h limit at a marked pedestrian crossing.
The officers attempted to stop the vehicle with lights and horns, but the driver leapt over the lane divider and continued toward Warsaw.
Collision and Vehicle Crash
During the escape the Audi collided with a Fiat and a Volvo, ultimately crashing into a roadside ditch. The driver tried to flee further but was apprehended by the police.
Apprehension of a 51‑Year‑Old Fugitive
The man was identified as a 51‑year‑old resident of Warsaw, who had been evading authorities. He was taken to a holding cell and then to a prison facility.
Six Driving Bans and a Life‑Sentence
Investigators discovered he carried six court‑issued driving bans, including a lifetime ban, and had a pending sentence of 3 years and 3 months imprisonment. During the search, mefedron was seized from his possession.
Detention and Legal Consequences
He was assigned to the prisoners’ section and transferred to a penitentiary, where he will serve the remaining years of his sentence.
He faces criminal liability for driving while banned, failure to stop for traffic control, and drug possession. Additionally, fines amounting to 4,000 zł were imposed for traffic offenses.
