Mentzen and Cenckiewicz Targeted in Harassment Campaign Involving Fake Pizza Orders

Politicians Sławomir Mentzen and Sławomir Cenckiewicz have reported that their personal phone numbers and private addresses were weaponized by unknown perpetrators to place fraudulent delivery orders and incite police interventions.

Allegations of identity misuse

Sławomir Mentzen stated on Saturday that his law firm’s phone number was being used to harass Republic TV journalists. He noted that the discovery was made by the journalists themselves, who investigated local pizzerias to trace the callers, rather than by law enforcement agencies.

Former BBN head Sławomir Cenckiewicz reported a similar incident, confirming his phone number and residential address were used to place unauthorized food orders. Cenckiewicz announced he would pursue legal action to identify the perpetrator responsible for using the Pyszne.pl platform in his name.

Security concerns and police intervention

Republic TV employees have been the targets of a series of false emergency reports, including claims of impending suicides or explosives at their residences. Police have conducted searches at various locations, including the home of the station’s editor-in-chief, Tomasz Sakiewicz.

The Warsaw Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest of a 53-year-old man on Saturday evening. Authorities stated that extensive analysis and ongoing investigations led to the detention of the suspect, who is believed to be linked to the wave of false alarms.

Political fallout and criticism of state response

Mentzen criticized the government’s reaction to the harassment, accusing ruling party politicians of mocking the victims rather than addressing the security crisis. He emphasized that the situation represents an organized effort to terrorize journalists in their homes.

The Confederation leader demanded that the state take immediate action to protect victims, regardless of their political affiliation. He argued that the state, including police and internal security agencies, is failing to function and that the harassment remains unchecked due to government negligence.
