He warned that Europe’s growing militarization and coalition building leave them vulnerable to Russian retaliation.

Poland’s 155‑mm Ammunition Production Sparks Russian Alarm

Lavrov noted Poland’s announcement to expand 155‑mm ammunition production by thirty times. He argued that Poland is portraying its preparations as a quest for “fair peace” in Ukraine, when Russia sees it as part of an aggressive build‑up near its borders.

Open Militaristic Fever in Europe, Lavrov Claims

The Russian official said that while Europe claims it has no aggressive plans against NATO or EU members, there is an openly militaristic fever on the other side. He cited Russian readiness to meet any European decision for war.

Russia Praises Cooperation with the United States

Lavrov expressed satisfaction with talks held at the U.S. level, especially those in Anchorage, and said the Russians and Americans are sincerely interested in a fair solution that protects all parties’ interests. He stated that proposals made to the U.S. and NATO in December 2021 remain valid and misunderstandings have been eliminated.
