Severe Truck‑Passenger Car Collision on DK50; Driver Resuscitated, LPR Helicopter Responds

A serious collision between a passenger car and a truck occurred at 18:10 on national road 50 near Tabor, Poland, leaving the car driver in critical condition and airlifted by a LPR helicopter.

Collision Details

The passenger car, an Opel, was traveling from Kołbiel, turned left onto provincial road 862, and was rear‑ended by a passing Renault truck, causing the car to fall into a roadside ditch.

Rescue Operations

The Opel driver was trapped inside the vehicle; firefighters from OSP Regut used hydraulic tools to extract her, after which medical teams performed CPR and restored vital functions.

She was then airlifted by the “Ratownik 12” LPR helicopter to a Warsaw hospital. The truck driver was sober and unharmed.

Traffic Disruptions

During the rescue the entire stretch of DK 50 was blocked. Shuttle traffic has been installed, and delays could last up to three hours.

Several fire crews and a medical team operated on site, while police managed remaining procedures.

Infrastructure Considerations

DK 50 is a key transit corridor. GDDKiA is preparing a bypass of Kołbiel to divert through traffic from the town and improve safety.
