Teenager Brings Sword‑Like Object Into School
On December 15, at 8:30 a.m., staff at Elementary School No. 7 in Mokrzyszów, Tarnobrzeg, noticed a sixth‑grade student carrying an object that resembled a sword.
Police Respond and Detain Student
The student fled the school grounds, but was apprehended by police who were called to the scene.
He sustained no injuries, according to police spokesperson Beata Jędrzejewska‑Wrona.
Legal Consequences
Under Article 50a paragraph 1 of the Polish Code of Offences, possessing a knife or sword in a public place with intent to use it in a crime may lead to arrest, restriction of liberty, or a fine of at least 3 000 zł.
Minors are not punished under this code; the case may be referred to a family court.
