Ukrainian President Visiting Poland

On 14 December, President Rafał Leśkiewicz announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will appear in Warsaw on 19 December. He is expected to meet Polish politicians and discuss security matters related to the war in Ukraine.

Unconfirmed media reports suggest the president may also appear in the Sejm. The parliamentary agenda indicates that, instead of votes, deputies will listen to a government report on the implementation of the law providing aid to Ukrainian citizens affected by the armed conflict.

Marcin Przydacz, head of International Policy at the Presidential Office, revealed details of the planned conversation while in Washington during a G20 meeting.

President Karol Nawrocki will discuss security, in particular Russian aggression, as well as negotiations over a future ceasefire or lasting peace in Ukraine.

He will also address bilateral issues, historical problems, and economic cooperation, stressing that Poland must protect its economic, agrarian, and business interests while preparing joint reconstruction projects with Ukraine.
