Seven members of a Ukrainian family disappeared from Władysławowo on Dec. 15, prompting a search that later confirmed the family had been found in Slovakia.
Mystery disappearance of Ukrainian family
Police received a missing persons report on Monday for a seven‑person Ukrainian family that was last seen on Dec. 15 near Rzemieślnicza Street in Władysławowo. The group consisted of a 27‑year‑old woman, a 44‑year‑old man and five children aged one to eight.
Police search concludes
Commissioner Patrycja Dombrowska explained that police had not found any evidence of a threat to the family’s safety and therefore ended the search. Police said the family was not considered at risk.
Family found in Slovakia, safe
A later police communiqué announced that the family had been located in Slovakia with assistance from the Border Guard. Police stated that the family was safe and there was no danger to their life or health.
Alleged family conflict reported
Unofficial reports from the news outlet ‘Fakt’ claim that domestic violence had led to the parents losing custody rights, resulting in the children being placed in foster care. Journalists reported a planned intervention on Monday that was described as a parental abduction.
