Kaczyński’s X Post Targets Inflation and Tusk

On X, Jarosław Kaczyński published a cartoon of former Prime Minister Donald Tusk with a green, hairy face, referencing the Grinch from Christmas films. He blamed rising inflation for the country’s holiday spending and claimed that 70 % of Poles would limit their expenses this year.

The post was accompanied by a message asking, “Do Tusk and his people think about this?” mirroring the same graphic shared by the Law and Justice party profile.

Study Finds 70% of Poles Plan to Cut Holiday Expenses

The 70 % figure comes from a survey by ANG OdpowiedzialneFinanse. Respondents reported they would reduce spending through better planning, preparing meals at home, and forgoing decorations.

However, the same study noted that most did not intend to cut gift purchases for close ones, with one-third of presents exceeding 400 PLN.

CBOS Reveals Rising Material Satisfaction in December 2025

According to CBOS’s “Social Sentiments in December”, 67 % of Poles judged their material conditions as good, the highest ever. This was a 5‑point increase from November.

Throughout 2025, the share of people rating their situation as “good” fell below 60 % only twice (January 57 % and March 59 %). In 2024, the figure was below 60 % in eight months.

Only 4 % rated their conditions as poor in December 2025, while the average rating of “poor” at 28 % was the lowest on record. For the past two years, this was the only time the poor‑rating indicator dropped below 30 %.
