Five fire brigade units arrived, began extinguishing operations, and secured the site. Workers removed gas cylinders to reduce the risk of an explosion during the rescue effort.

The blaze completely destroyed one apartment and the stairwell. One resident suffered burns to the hands, back, and face and was transported to the hospital.
