Following reports of being incapacitated on a flight, PiS MP Marcin Porzucek admitted on Tuesday to a dangerous mix of alcohol and prescription medication after being removed from a plane by emergency services.
The Incident at Chopin Airport
On May 28, PiS MP Marcin Porzucek was unable to disembark from a plane at Warsaw Chopin Airport on his own. According to reports from the daily newspaper “Fakt,” emergency services were called to carry the MP off the aircraft after cabin crew were unable to wake him.
Witnesses cited by the media described the MP as being in a state of severe intoxication that appeared to pose a threat to his health. An informant stated that despite numerous attempts, the crew could not rouse him, and he was only removed after all other passengers had deplaned.
Conflicting Explanations and Photographic Evidence
Initially, Porzucek did not address allegations of intoxication, attributing his condition to an orthopedic issue and citing plans for a hip MRI. He claimed that he had been suffering from this condition for months and was taking prescribed medication.
On Tuesday, the Konkret24 editorial team published an analysis of photographs sent in via Kontakt24, confirming the authenticity of the images from the airport. Following this, Porzucek issued a formal statement admitting to his actions.
Admission of Irresponsibility
In a post on the X platform, the MP apologized to those offended by the incident. He acknowledged that combining alcohol with his prescribed pain medication was an act of extreme irresponsibility.
Porzucek stated that this was the first such event in his life and pledged that he would do everything in his power to ensure such an incident does not occur again.
