The Falcon 50 departed Ankara‑Esenboğa airport at 20:10 local time on Tuesday, lost contact after about 40 minutes, and was found 2 km south of Kesikkavak village in the Haymana district. Turkish Defence Minister Ali Yerlikaya reported the wreckage location.

All five on board died. They included Libya’s chief of staff, General Mohammed Al‑Haddad; his deputy, General Al‑Fitouri Ghraibila; Brigadier General Mahmoud Al‑Qatawi; adviser Professor Muhammad Al‑Asawi Diab; and a press photographer, Professor Muhammad Omar Ahmed Mahjoub.
