Collision on S17 Highway
A collision between two passenger cars occurred on the S17 highway at the 15th kilometer mark, on the exit to Jatne in Otwocki county. Five people were injured, including four children.
The incident happened on the lane heading toward Lublin.
Vehicles and Victims
A Fiat Punto, driven by a 48-year-old woman, collided with a BMW driven by a 74-year-old man. Preliminary findings suggest the Fiat driver hit the BMW from behind.
The injured were the 48-year-old Fiat driver and children aged 5, 11, 12, and 13 who were traveling with her. All injured individuals were taken to the hospital. Both drivers were sober and possessed valid driving licenses.
Conflicting Accounts
The drivers’ accounts of the incident differ. The woman claims the BMW driver was reversing the vehicle toward the exit, while the 74-year-old states he was standing in the emergency lane when the Fiat driver hit him from behind.
Police are currently at the scene. Traffic disruptions are occurring in the Lublin direction.
