Kielce court orders reinvestigation into institutional responsibility for 8-year-old Kamil’s death.
Prosecutor’s Office to Re-examine Case
On Thursday (January 15), the Regional Court in Kielce granted the appeals of the legal representatives. Consequently, investigators will again examine the responsibility of institutions for Kamil’s death from Częstochowa. This concerns the actions of courts, prosecutors’ offices, police, and social workers in the case. Simultaneously, the appeals regarding doctors and teachers were dismissed, according to the Polish Press Agency (PAP).
The ruling is final.
Charges Filed Against Mother, Stepfather, and Two Others
On May 8, 2025, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk filed an indictment with the District Court in Częstochowa against four individuals linked to the death of 8-year-old Kamil. Charges were brought against the boy’s mother, Magdalena B., her husband Dawid B., as well as Aneta J. and Wojciech J.

Magdalena B. was charged with “assisting her husband Dawid B. in committing the murder of her 8-year-old son Kamil by leaving the victim in a state of direct life-threatening danger.” She was also accused of “assisting Dawid B. in physically and psychologically abusing with particular cruelty (…) 8-year-old Kamil M. and 7-year-old Fabian M. (…) as well as physical and psychological abuse (…) and at least twice exposing Kamil M. to direct danger of loss of life or serious bodily harm.”
Aneta J. and Wojciech J. were charged with “failing to assist 8-year-old Kamil M., who was in a life-threatening situation, despite the accused being able to help the victim.”
