Public photos show Polish President Nawrocki and Foreign Minister Sikorski laughing together amid known tensions between their offices.
Public Photos Ignite Speculation
Media outlets published unusual photographs of Karol Nawrocki and Radosław Sikorski, showing the laughing President and Foreign Minister. The images clearly depict the politicians sharing amusement and appearing comfortable in each other’s presence, according to “Fakt”.
History of Tensions
Spi frequently occur between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Palace. On December 2nd, Sikorski criticized Nawrocki online, accusing him of attacking the EU and Ukraine instead of engaging with Washington. In December, Nawrocki called Donald Tusk the “worst prime minister since 1989” and suggested Sikorski would rank among the worst leaders.
Upcoming Meeting Scheduled
Presidential International Policy Office head Marcin Przydacz recently announced a meeting between Nawrocki and Sikorski scheduled for January 26th at 14:00. They will discuss ambassadors, as many diplomatic posts are currently led by charge d’affaires rather than full ambassadors, a situation Przydacz described as suboptimal.
