Ambassador Summoned Over Protests
Eisa Kameli, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Poland, was summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, January 15th. The summoning addressed situations arising during protests lasting over two weeks.
“In the position conveyed to the ambassador, the MFA emphasized deep concern over the reactions of Iranian authorities to recent events, especially the growing number of victims and arrests.”
Poland Calls for Dialogue
“Due to its own historical experiences, Poland is certain that violence against expressions of freedom of speech, assembly, or peaceful demonstrations is unacceptable and not an effective means of achieving political goals. Recognizing the value of special historical Polish-Iranian relations, Poland appeals to stop using force against protesters and to engage in dialogue.”
