A speeding Ford driver threw a safe containing 80,000 złoty and a mobile phone out of his car during a police chase near Warsaw before being apprehended.
Police Pursuit and Arrest
Police from Piaseczna reported an intervention in the Tarczyn municipality near Warsaw where a Ford driver fled from a routine traffic stop. During the high-speed chase, the driver threw a safe containing cash and a mobile phone out of the vehicle window. Police quickly apprehended the 24-year-old, who is a resident of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
Seized Evidence
During a search of the Ford, police discovered a hammer and license plates that had been reported stolen. They also recovered the items thrown from the vehicle during the chase – a mobile phone and a safe containing 80,000 Polish złoty. Police believe the suspect attempted to dispose of these items as they were also connected to criminal activity.
Additional Criminal Charges
Further investigation revealed that the arrested man was wanted by police from Warsaw and Zielonki for an incident at a prestigious hotel. Authorities stated that the 24-year-old entered the hotel armed with a knife and attempted to kill one of the guests. Police determined the victim was stabbed twice during the altercation. The suspect now faces charges of attempted murder, which carries a potential life sentence. The court has ordered a three-month pre-trial detention at the request of the prosecution.
