One in Four Poles Support Braun’s Party in Poll

Poll shows 26.6% of Poles would support Grzegorz Braun’s Confederation in parliamentary elections.

Poll Results

A poll conducted by SW Research for “Rzeczpospolita” asked respondents: “Would you like the Confederation of the Polish Crown to cross the electoral threshold in future parliamentary elections?” 26.6% of respondents answered “Yes.” 46.4% of those surveyed held the opposite view, while 27.1% could not definitively determine their position.

Who Opposes Braun’s Party in Parliament?

According to poll data, opposition to the Confederation of the Polish Crown entering parliament is particularly evident in certain social groups. “The entry of Grzegorz Braun’s group into parliament would be negatively perceived by more than half of people over 50 (55%) and more than half of those with higher education (53%),” commented Przemysław Wesołowski, president of SW Research, for “Rz.” Opposition is also more frequently expressed by persons with net incomes of 5,001 to 7,000 zł (53%) and residents of major cities (54%).

Confederation Growing in Polls

The SW Research poll confirms a trend seen in recent months. The Confederation of the Polish Crown, led by Grzegorz Braun, has regularly appeared in public opinion polls with results above the electoral threshold since the 2025 presidential elections. Many show that without Braun, no coalition of right-wing parties can count on a majority in parliament.

Split with Confederation

The paths of Confederation and Confederation of the Polish Crown diverged before the 2025 presidential elections. Sławomir Mentzen became the candidate of Confederation, while Grzegorz Braun decided to run independently. This decided the breakup of the previous alliance. In the elections, Mentzen took third place with 14.81% of the vote, while Braun was fourth, receiving 6.34% support.

Kaczyński Rejects Cooperation with Braun

Rising support for Braun’s party does not, however, indicate openness to cooperation from the Law and Justice party. Jarosław Kaczyński has repeatedly emphasized that he sees no possibility of a coalition with the Confederation of the Polish Crown. “I have never spoken with him and I consider him a politician who has far exceeded the limits that are insurmountable for politicians in our civilizational sphere,” Kaczyński stated.

Controversies Surrounding Grzegorz Braun

The Confederation of the Polish Crown remains one of the most controversial formations on the Polish political scene. The party openly advocates for Poland’s exit from the European Union. Grzegorz Braun himself has repeatedly sparked extreme reactions with his statements and actions. The most high-profile incident was extinguishing a Hanukkah candle in parliament using a fire extinguisher.
