Poll Shows Majority Support Government Action to Bring Ziobry Back to Poland Despite Asylum

52% of Poles back government efforts to bring Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobry back to Poland for trial despite his Hungarian asylum.

Survey Results on Ziobry’s Return

A recent poll conducted by Opinia24 for RMF FM found that 52% of Poles believe the government should take further action to bring Zbigniew Ziobry back to Poland and put him before a court, despite the politician having obtained asylum in Hungary. Of this group, 35% answered “definitely yes” and 17% “rather yes.” The survey was conducted on January 12-14.

Support Varies by Demographic

The survey revealed that support for bringing Ziobry back was strongest among people over 60 (57%), those with higher education (56%), and women (53%). Civic Coalition voters showed the highest support at 92%. Meanwhile, 22% of respondents opposed the action, with 26% having no opinion.

Hungarian Authorities Decline Comment

The Hungarian Ministry of the Interior declined to provide details about Ziobry’s asylum, citing strict data protection regulations governing asylum procedures. The politician and his wife Patrycja Kotecka-Ziobro both received asylum in Hungary in recent days.
