Record High Demand for Polish Passports

Polish authorities report 19,600 passport applications, a record high up from 16,100 the previous year, as rejections rise amid labor market concerns.

Record Application Numbers

According to data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration prepared for DGP, 19,600 passport applications were submitted, compared to 16,100 in the previous year.

Rising Rejections

However, provincial offices are increasingly tempering the enthusiasm of applicants. The number of negative decisions issued has also significantly increased.

Concerns from Entrepreneurs and Lawyers

This new trend is causing concern among entrepreneurs and lawyers. They believe it indicates a hardening of office policies, which could bring harm to the Polish labor market.

“Zero Tolerance” Policy Warnings

Experts are warning that the “zero tolerance” policy, where even a minor fine can block the right to a passport, will cause skilled specialists to start bypassing Poland.
