President Karol Nawrocki Calls Cabinet Meeting for August 27, 2025

President Karol Nawrocki, exercising constitutional authority, has summoned the Cabinet Board to discuss the national budget, public finances, and major development projects including the Central Transport Hub and nuclear power plants.

Cabinet Board convened for August 27

President of the Republic Karol Nawrocki, acting under Article 141, paragraph 1 of the Constitution, signed today a decree calling the Cabinet Board to meet on 27 August 2025 at 9:00 AM, as announced on X by the President’s Office. The decree was published by Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the President’s Office. The agenda will include a review of the state budget and public finances, as well as the government’s progress and plans for development investments, mainly concerning the Central Transport Hub and nuclear power plants.

Agriculture and Mercosur

The third issue to be discussed involves the Ministry of Finance’s planned measures to protect Polish agriculture and its production from the influx of agricultural goods from outside the European Union, particularly in the context of the EU‑Mercosur trade agreement and the EU‑Ukraine agreement on agricultural products and food.

President Nawrocki’s Project for the Central Transport Hub

The proposed law on the construction of the Central Transport Hub, posted on the President’s Office website, calls for an expansion of the rail network and the creation of over two thousand new lines linking previously underserved regions. Earlier, in Kalisz, Karol Nawrocki signed the bill. His version aims to revive the construction of the new airport to the level seen during the United Right’s administration. The project includes increased funding, with additional securities issued to raise the necessary capital. The legislation bans changes that could delay the project and prohibits agreements with airlines that might violate permissible public aid. Construction should finish by 2031, with the closure of Chopin Airport planned for the end of 2032.
