Construction disaster in Poznań: Block of flats collapsed

On Tuesday evening, a building collapse in central Poznań prompted a massive firefighting response, but firefighters found no victims and the danger to surrounding structures was minimal.

Incident

On Tuesday, August 19, at approximately 5:30 p.m. firefighters received a call about a fire in a building on Młyńska Street, in the heart of Poznań. TVP3 Poznań reported that the roof of one level had collapsed.

Firefighters’ Response

Seven fire crews were dispatched to the scene, whose main task was to check for casualties and assess any threat posed to neighboring structures. Preliminary information indicated that no one had been found inside the building.

Current Status

At this time, there have been no reported injuries, and efforts are underway to secure the site and prevent further damage to nearby buildings.
