Energy Minister Denys Szmyhal stated that Thursday, January 22, was the hardest day for the Ukrainian power system since the November 2022 outage, according to his Telegram post.

Power Outages in Kyiv

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported multi-hour power outages across the city, with one quarter of residential blocks without heating. Even in buildings with heating, temperatures are around 10 degrees Celsius, with 165 teams working to restore heat throughout the day.

Szmyhal’s Appeal to Public

Energy Minister Denys Szmyhal urged citizens to rely only on official information, warning that the enemy is not only attacking infrastructure but also attempting to destabilize Ukrainian society through disinformation and manipulation.
