Six wagons of a freight train derailed in Jaroszowa Wola, Poland, on Feb. 2-3 while transporting diesel oil.
Incident Details
The incident occurred Monday night to Tuesday night (February 2-3) in the area of Jaroszowa Wola (Piaseczyn district, Mazowieckie voivodeship). According to RMF FM reports, 6 of 25 wagons of a freight train from Szczecin to Chełm (railway line no. 12) derailed.
The wagons slid off the embankment and are lying on their side, off the tracks, reported RMF FM brigade officer Łukasz Darmofalski, press officer of the District Commander of the State Fire Service in Piaseczno.
Cargo and Safety Concerns
The train was transporting diesel oil. No leaks are currently visible, but emergency teams need to determine if the tank shells have been damaged at the points where the wagons are resting on the ground.
Emergency Response
Multiple services are working at the scene, including police, the railway protection service, and 24 fire brigades, according to Darmofalski.
