A 17-year-old mother and her child have gone missing in the Silesian region, prompting a crucial police appeal for assistance after the mother reportedly took the child from a temporary care facility on Tuesday.

Disappearance Details

The disappearance occurred on Tuesday, according to a statement from the Gliwice City Police Headquarters. “Borys Pierzchała was taken by his mother from a temporary care facility, where both were staying, as reported by the legal guardian,” the police explained. Search efforts for the child and mother began due to concerns about the mother’s ability to provide parental care.

Police Appeal for Information

Authorities describe the missing 17-year-old mother, Oliwia Pierzchała, as wearing a black long-sleeve jacket with a hood, light denim jeans, and white sports shoes. “She has black, loose hair and a slim build. She was carrying a black child’s stroller and a black bag,” they noted. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Gliwice City Police Headquarters at (tel. 47 859 22 55) or dial the emergency number 112.

What to Do in Case of a Disappearance

“In disappearance cases, time is critical. If you suspect a loved one has gone missing, do not hesitate to report it to the nearest police station immediately—not after 48 hours,” advises the Małopolska Police. “When filing a report, ensure you bring a recent photo of the missing person. Officers will ask many questions to gather as much factual information as possible,” they add.
