Two running events on February 8th will affect traffic routes in Warsaw, with approximately 2,500 participants expected.
Race Information
The 19th Bielan Cup Race (5 kilometers) and 43rd Chomiczówka Race (15 kilometers) will take place on Sunday, February 8th. Both races start at Conrad Street near the shopping pavilion and finish on Neruda Street. Registration and additional information are available at biegchomiczowki.eu. The races are organized by the Bielany district and co-organized by the “Chomiczówka” Physical Culture Promotion Society.
Race Routes
The 19th Bielan Cup Race starts at 10:00 AM. The route includes: Conrada, Bogusławskiego, Kwitnąca, Głowackiego, Żółwia, Mistrzowska, Brązownicza, Conrada (north side sidewalk), Dąbrowskiej, Bajana, Renesansowa, and Aspekt.
The 43rd Chomiczówka Race starts at 11:00 AM. Participants will run the following route twice: Conrada, Bogusławskiego, Kwitnąca, Księżycowa (return at Fort Wawrzyszew bus loop), Kwitnąca, Głowackiego, Żółwią, Mistrzowską, Kluczową, Sieciechowską, Brązownicza (turnaround), Conrada (sidewalk), Dąbrowskiej, Bajana, and Renesansowa.
Traffic Impacts
All streets on the race routes will be closed at 9:00 AM. Conrad Street will be inaccessible from Wólczyńska (access to gas station permitted) to Brązownicza. Only municipal buses to the Chomiczówka loop and residents of buildings Conrada 10, 12, and 14 will be permitted beyond this point. All streets on the race routes will reopen by 15:00.
Bus lines 114, 116, and 409 will change routes from 9:00 AM to 15:00 PM. Line 203 service will be suspended during the event. Parking restrictions will be in effect throughout Sunday, February 8th, with additional parking available at supermarkets and shopping centers for residents and runners.
Safety Measures
Safety services and police officers will monitor the races to ensure participant and pedestrian safety. They will assist pedestrians in crossing the race routes.
