Jarosław Kaczyński continued leading Law and Justice party operations from his hospital bed during treatment for an infection, according to party officials.
Kaczyński Led Party from Hospital
One Law and Justice party activist told “Fakt” that Jarosław Kaczyński handled party matters even during his hospital stay. “As for current functioning, there is a committee and procedures within the party, so it functioned,” the activist said, adding that “the president was constantly in telephone contact with many people.”
In their view, the illness of the party leader did not affect “strategic matters.” “The president went through this infection in such a way that he was able, while undergoing treatment and ongoing observation, so to speak, to direct our ship,” they conveyed.
Other interlocutors of the daily, also associated with PiS, assured that Kaczyński shows “significant improvement” and “everything is going for the better.”
Potential Appearance at Smoleńsk Commemoration
Law and Justice politicians, including Jarosław Kaczyński, appear on the 10th of each month at Józef Piłsudski Square in Warsaw to lay flowers at the monument to the victims of the Smoleńsk disaster.
“Fakt” asked party activists whether Kaczyński would participate in the upcoming commemorations, i.e., on Tuesday, February 10. Most of them were not sure about this. “Whether the president will appear will probably only be clear on Tuesday. As a club, we have ordered Mass for all months. Knowing the president, one can assume that if he can, he will participate,” said Barbara Bartuś.
Kaczyński Discharged from Hospital
On Friday (February 6), Jarosław Kaczyński left the hospital where he had been undergoing treatment for an infection. He was under medical care for over a week.
“The President left the hospital due to completed treatment after an illness. According to medical recommendations, he will remain at home for the next few days. Despite recent ailments, our leader continuously coordinated all PiS activities, and it will be no different now. We are working for Poland!” – PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek conveyed in social media.
