Driver and Possible Cause
According to police, the bus was driven by a 53-year-old man. Preliminary findings suggest he was likely trying to avoid collision with a wild animal that appeared on the road. As a result of the maneuver, the vehicle left the road, entered a ditch, and overturned on its side.
Passengers and Injuries
According to information provided by the fire department, the bus was carrying 31 people. Firefighters reported that 10 passengers sustained more serious injuries, while the others had minor injuries. Medical triage of the injured was conducted at the scene; some people required immediate assistance.
Rescue Operations and Traffic
On section DK62 where the incident occurred – between Kamieńczyk and Puste Łąki – rescue operations were conducted by the fire department, medical rescue teams, and police. A helicopter from the Air Rescue was also dispatched to the accident area. A tent was set up for people with minor injuries, where assistance was provided and further medical decisions awaited.
National road 62 at the site of the accident was blocked, and drivers were diverted. Services report that disruptions may last several hours, and the situation at the scene is being secured and documented on an ongoing basis.
In both directions—from Wyszków towards Łochów and from Łochów towards S8—detours were designated through the village of Kamieńczyk.
