Two-car collision on S8 road spills hundreds of eggs, creating unusual traffic hazard.
Collision Details
On Friday, February 14, a collision occurred between two passenger cars, Renault and Peugeot, on the S8 road between the Powązkowska and Broniewski exits in the direction of the Grota-Roweckiego bridge. After the initial impact, the Renault struck energy-absorbing barriers, further complicating traffic in the area.
Emergency Response
A medical rescue team was dispatched to the scene. Paramedics examined all involved individuals, but no injuries were reported, and no hospital transport was necessary. Police classified the incident as a collision.
Egg Spill Creates Hazard
An unusual consequence of the collision was the cargo in the Renault, which contained several hundred eggs. Following the impact with the Peugeot and subsequent collision with barriers, the eggs broke open and scattered across the roadway. The broken contents created a layer resembling “unscrambled scrambled eggs” on the pavement, requiring cleanup before normal traffic could resume.
Traffic Disruption
During the response operations, two lanes in the direction of the Grota-Roweckiego bridge were blocked, resulting in traffic delays on the S8 in the vicinity of the incident.
