Drunk Man Jumps onto Warsaw Metro Tracks, Causing Six Station Closures

A drunk man fell onto metro tracks at Wiliczka Station, narrowly avoiding tragedy and causing major disruptions.

Incident Details

The incident occurred on the platform at Wiliczka Station (line M2) in Praga-Północ. According to information provided, a man under the influence of alcohol leaned against the rear end of a metro train entering the platform. As a result, he lost his balance and fell onto the tracks.

Medical assistance was provided to the injured person on site. Fortunately, he was not injured and was taken to a detox center. Simultaneously, services were securing the area of the incident.

Ongoing Investigation

Services are determining the exact circumstances of the incident, including the course of events on the platform and how the man ended up in direct proximity to the tracks at the moment the train was arriving.

Transportation Disruptions

As a result of the rescue operation and activities at the station, traffic was suspended on a section of line M2 and a total of six metro stations were closed. Difficulties affected passengers using line II, including those transferring on sections running through the center.
