Works Begin on Modlińska Street – Three Weeks of Disruptions Ahead for Traffic Heading to Praga-Północ
Roadworks Start on Modlińska Street
Starting Monday, August 25, 2025, road crews will begin surface replacement on Modlińska Street, focusing on the carriageway heading north toward Praga-Północ. The work will occur between Ćwiklińska and Mehoffera avenues, leading to lane reductions, closure of two right lanes on parts of the segment, and a speed limit of 40 km/h. Buses 723, 731, and N63 will bypass the Żyżki 01 stop during this period. Preliminary work is expected to last approximately three weeks, after which new asphalt will be laid across the entire carriageway in September.
Traffic Organization During Works
From the intersection with Sprawna Street, drivers will travel straight using three lanes, with the far left lane closed. Between Winorośli and Mehoffera streets, two right lanes, including the bus lane, will be closed, redirecting traffic to two lanes closer to the center divider. A speed limit of 40 km/h will apply across the entire narrowed section of the road.
Public Transport Adjustments
During the works, buses on lines 723, 731, and N63 will not stop at Żyżki 01 station. The City Road Administration (ZDM) reported that in recent months, new asphalt has already been laid on Modlińska Street from the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Bridge to Przaśna Street and subsequently to Płochocińska Street. The city is also conducting surface replacements on other streets, such as Ostródzka and Żubrowa, which may cause additional localized disruptions. Local city services and media have previously informed about works on these segments.
