Morning Collision in Warsaw. Injured Man Vanishes into Military Base

A collision between Renault and Toyota on Warsaw’s Hynka overpass left one driver injured; he fled onto a military compound during national commemorations.

Collision Details

On Saturday, February 28th, just before 8:00 AM, a collision occurred on the Hynka overpass above Żwirki i Wigury Street towards Alei Krakowskiej between a Renault and a Toyota. Initial findings indicate the Renault struck the rear of the Toyota. The impact caused the Toyota to hit crash barriers, while the Renault veered onto the lawn near a military unit.

Intruder’s Escape

Simultaneously, the military base was preparing for wreath-laying ceremonies at a monument for “Żołnierze Wyklęci” (Cursed Soldiers) Day. The injured man, bleeding from the head, exploited the commotion to enter the base. He walked unhindered across the entire compound and exited near Lechicka Street. Search operations for him are ongoing.

Emergency Response

Fire services were dispatched to the collision site. The driver of the car received medical assistance. Police conducted investigations at the scene and towed the Renault to a police impound lot.
