A 12-year-old girl who went missing during a walk was found safe and sound after an extensive search in the Prądocin lake area.
Search Operation Launched
A 12-year-old girl left her home before 9 AM on Sunday for a short walk but did not return and had no contact with her family. The search operation began in the afternoon.
Involved in the search were police officers from the Municipal Police Command in Bydgoszcz, firefighters from PSP and OSP, the Polish Red Cross, the Bizon group with search dogs, as well as neighbors and volunteers. They searched the area around the lake in Prądocin, nearby roads and forest areas. A team with a boat and sleds was also ready to search the frozen lake.
Area Expanded
Initially, the search focused on the lake area in Prądocin and nearby forest regions. Later, the operation expanded to surrounding towns, train stations, fast food places and similar locations.
The Provincial Police Command in Bydgoszcz informed that the child may have been moving towards Bydgoszcz and further towards Torun.
Child Found Safe
Authorities believed there was a real threat to the life of the 12-year-old girl, but these concerns were not confirmed.
At 7:05 PM, the child was found safe and sound by a police patrol.
