Iran Fired Over 1,000 Drones Toward UAE Since Middle East War Began

Iran has launched 1,072 drones and 196 ballistic missiles toward the United Arab Emirates since the conflict began, with most attacks successfully intercepted.

Successful Interceptions

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense reported that the vast majority of Iranian attacks have been successfully neutralized. According to the ministry, Iran has fired a total of 1,072 drones and 196 ballistic missiles toward the UAE since the conflict began.

On Thursday, March 5, the UAE intercepted six rockets and 131 drones. One rocket and six drones fell on the country’s territory.

Casualties Reported

The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that three people died in Iranian attacks. These were citizens of Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Since the beginning of the war, 94 people have been injured in the UAE.

Costly Defense Measures

BBC noted that Iranian Shahed drones can be shot down through various methods, but defense against such attacks is expensive. To neutralize these attacks, specialized GPS jamming devices and laser weapon systems can be used.
