Ukrainian Driver Arrested After Speeding at 206 km/h Under Influence of Cocaine in Warsaw

Police in Warsaw arrested a 26-year-old Ukrainian national who was driving at 206 km/h while under the influence of cocaine.

Incident Details

On the night of March 10-11, 2026, at approximately 23:30, police were responding to reports of illegal racing on Al. Jerozolimskie Street. Officers patrolling the area observed an Audi passing at high speed near ulicy Batalionu AK “Włochy”.

Arrest and Substance Test

Police measured the vehicle’s speed at 206 km/h in a built-up area where the speed limit is 70 km/h. The 26-year-old Ukrainian driver was arrested. Police noted his unclear and slurred speech during questioning. Initial alcohol tests were negative, but subsequent drug tests detected cocaine in his system.

Legal Proceedings

The driver was taken into custody, and his driver’s license was confiscated. The investigation is proceeding under Articles 178a § 1 and 178d of the Penal Code. Police are preparing evidence to request a pre-trial detention measure for the suspect.
