Warsaw’s Bemowo district will host the BeMore5K race on March 15th, causing road closures and traffic rerouting.
Race Overview
The Bemowo district invites participants to the next edition of the BeMore5K race. Runners will take a route along Powstańców Śląskich and Radiowa streets. On Sunday morning, March 15th, these streets will be closed. Warsaw Public Transport will operate on diversion routes.
Race Details
The start and finish will be near the Bemowo District Office. Runners will run one lane of Powstańców Śląskich street to Radiowa. There, they will turn towards the Military University of Technology, then turn back several dozen meters before Ebro street. They will return to the finish by the same route. The race starts at 11:00 AM, and participants will have 45 minutes to complete the five-kilometer course.
Road Closures Before the Race
Preparations for the race will begin on Sunday at 8:00 AM. At that time, the lane of Powstańców Śląskich heading towards Połczyńska, between Dywizjonu 303 and Górczewska streets, will be closed. Drivers on Powstańców Śląskich from Wrocławska will have one less lane to go straight at the intersection with Radiowa street. This arrangement will remain in effect until the event ends at 1:00 PM.
Road Closures During the Race
Other traffic changes will be implemented half an hour before the start, at 10:30 AM. The lane of Powstańców Śląskich heading towards Połczyńska will be closed at the intersection with Radiowa. Meanwhile, Radiowa will be impassable from Adamiecki Roundabout to Powstańców Śląskich. During the race, drivers on Radiowa from Wrocławska and on Wrocławska from Radiowa will only be able to turn right at intersections with Powstańców Śląskich towards the airport.
Alternative Routes
For drivers, an alternative route is prepared for the closed section of Powstańców Śląskich. They will use Radiowa, Dywizjonu 303, Księcia Janusza, and Górczewska streets. From Ebro to Radiowa, you can only exit towards Adamiecki Roundabout. Hery, Dywizjonu 303, and Pełczyński streets will lose connection with Powstańców Śląskich. All exits from housing estates leading to the race route will also be closed.
Public Transportation Changes
For several hours, buses of lines 112, 122, 220, and 523, as well as trams of line 20, will operate on modified routes. From approximately 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM and from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, buses of line 122 towards Górczewska Estate will use Radiowa, Kaliskiego, and Lazurowa streets. During the same hours, trams of line 20 will not reach Boernerowo but will use Radiowa, Powstańców Śląskich, and Górczewska streets.
